Day 7 and we are well prepared for our journey. First mate has "swabbed the deck", provisions are in place and the Captain is at the helm.
Radio in to see which path to take. We choose to go up the Cumberland as the wait for each barge on the Ohio would of been 2 to 2 1/2 hrs and there was possible 2-3 barges.
Scenery like we are used to. Eagles along the river.
Made it through the Barclay KY lock around 3 p.m.
This lock has a 50' + rise.
Docked for the night at Green Turtle Bay.
Hanging around the dock with new friends who are also headed down south.
